SUMMARY: LC 41 0628   Requires a separate home room class in high school (if the school has home room classes) for at risk students.

REQUIREMENTS:  
  • does not apply to special education students
  • student participation is voluntary
  • at risk is defined as students characterized by poverty, high absenteeism, academic failure, pregnancy, disruptive behavior, or other dysfunctions
  • in this class students shall receive specialized tutoring, mentoring, career path coaching, or other support services 

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon approval of the General Assembly and Governor.
